How your hat & scarf gets you noticed.
Pulling off a winter hat whilst keeping it chic and sophist isn’t always an easy task. We battle with our hair and the horror as we peel off our hat to find flat bedhead hair, stuck to our forehead. I always think that pairing a hat with a compatible scarf somehow gives the hat a reason and purpose other than keeping you warm on a cold day…it’s a more complete look. A winter hat on its own can sometimes look a bit awkward, unless you are under 35.
I went to H&M and found not only some winter woolly styles but a couple of alternative ideas. How about a French beret to finish your outfit. I paired it with a full circle scarf that sits like a slouchy cowl neck. To be honest you don’t need to take off your French beret indoors…I wear mine with a turtle-neck sweater and just slip my coat on and off when I leave the house.
Choose a soft, woolly hat that covers your ears if you’re looking for warmth and protection from the cold… I found some stylish ones with matching scarves.
For a more fun and flirty alternative how about a flat-cap or slick fedora… at least these options won’t ruin your blow-dry!
